At 9:15am this morning your bargaining team received what the Company is calling their Best and Final Offer. This came to a surprise to everyone on the bargaining committee, as we have had zero talks or communication with the Boeing Company or their negotiators since mediation broke off on Wednesday.
This offer is, just that, an offer. It contains all of the items from the previous offer except for these changes below (from the company's email to us):
1. Wages - Increase the general wage increases to 30% over 4 years (Yr. 1 - 12%, Yr. 2 - 6%, YR. 3 - 6%, Yr. 4 - 6%)
2. Ratification Bonus - A $6000 ratification bonus (LOU 34)
3. Incentive Pay - Reinstate the AMPP incentive plan. This replaces the prior proposal to begin contributing to the OAM's Machinist Retirement Savings Plan.
4. Retirement - Increase the company match on the Boeing 401(k) Plan to 100% of the first 8%; also continue 4% automatic Company contribution.
We know that our membership has the final say on whether this offer meets their needs or is good enough to ratify. And your bargaining team was in discussion to request the company to get back to the mediation table to discuss a few items, when the company released this offer out to you. We are now verifying how and when we can vote this, or an additional offer if talks resume, but don't have those details. So we ask you to stay tuned for more details as they emerge quickly. I don't see it mention about insurance. Will insurance stays the same last contract or still reduced by 15% for 4 years or it will be raised by 40% in 4 years? Please make it clear. Thank you.
We should take this offer. It’s not the best offer but it’s good. Boeing is not doing good either.
