IAM/Boeing Contract 2024 Negotiations Update - September 3, 2024

We hope you enjoyed your Labor Day. Your Union committee was hard at work over the weekend, never missing an opportunity to bring your priorities to the forefront in every discussion with the company.

We are now just nine days away from a vote on a contract proposal we've been waiting 16 long years to see - a comprehensive agreement that honors our work and our sacrifices. Negotiating this 304-page document has been a monumental task, but we're in the final stretch. The stakes couldn't be higher, and we're standing firm. Now, the real question is: will Boeing step up and deliver what you deserve?

Today, IAM District 751 President Jon Holden spoke with Acting U.S. Secretary of Labor Julie Su, giving her a clear picture of where we stand. The gap between our priorities and the company's offers remains wide. We made it clear to Su and her team that this fight isn't just for IAM 751/W24 Machinists but all workers. We're fighting for workers in the past who built our foundation, today's workers who are making it happen on the shop floor, and tomorrow's workers who will carry this industry into the future.

On September 12, the power will be in your hands. Once we receive the company's final offer, we will evaluate whether we can recommend that members accept or reject the proposal. We remain at odds over several items: wages, healthcare, retirement, additional time off, and job security. We have laid out a path with our proposals that could lead to a successful ratification. Boeing has the power to take that path and acknowledge the value that each Member brings to Boeing's success. It's up to Boeing to do the right thing, and each Member will decide if it is enough.

As we prepare for a historic vote on September 12, we are working through every process to make this as smooth as possible for members to vote. While there might be a few bumps, know this: every IAM 751 and W24 Member in good standing will have their vote counted. No one will be left behind. We are doing all we can to make the process go smoothly and quickly. No one will be disenfranchised - every Member in good standing will be allowed to vote that day, and your vote will be counted.

After the polls close, we'll count every ballot , connect with IAM District 751 and announce the results on our website, text blast, and email blast.

This is our moment to make history. Be proud of what you're doing. The world is watching and waiting to see what September 13 will bring.

In Unity,

Your IAM District 751 and District W24 Negotiating Committee
